About Kickstand
Our Story
Â
In 2019, young people, families and caregivers, Indigenous partners, service providers, government and donors across Alberta gathered together to talk about how we can better serve the needs of young Albertans. Our conversations focused on building integrated youth services centres – a single place where professionals can work together to support young people (12-25 years old) through a variety of connected services.
It was clear from our discussions that when people are struggling, it can be really challenging to find useful information and support.Â
Through these conversations with young people, families and caregivers, we began the process of imagining what these ‘one-stop-shops’ for wellness would look like – both online and in-person. Their input was critical in determining every aspect of our model. They helped build Kickstand – and they’ll continue to shape it well into the future.
