SUMMARY
Kickstand Strathmore operated by the Trellis Society, is currently looking for a Peer Support Community Outreach Worker with lived experience to support our youth involved. The Peer Support Community Outreach Worker will support in 1:1, group and educational capacities under the supervision of a therapist. This position will require flexibility for work hours and may include evening and occasional weekend work.
What you will bring to the role
- Peer Support Worker will self-identify as having lived experience
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in an environment that is not always predictable
- Strong communication skills: provide support and encouragement and accurately maintain written logs
- Experience working with people from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds
- Openness to sharing lived experience while maintaining healthy boundaries
- Embrace the Trellis values of Courage, Empathy, Learning & Impact
- Strong advocacy skills
Additional Requirements
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check (dated within the last 6 months) *
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Record Check (dated within the last 6 months)
- Proof of full Covid 19 vaccination or proof of medical or human rights exemption
- Class 5 driver’s license and clear drivers abstract
- Current Standard First Aid / Basic Rescuer CPR
- Some Post-Secondary education considered an asset
- Proof of covid-19 double vaccination

Reporting Structure
This position will directly report to the Hub Manager, while working collaboratively with PSECA serving programs.
