At Kickstand Drayton Valley, we acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Dene, Nakota Sioux, and Métis peoples. This area is also within Region 4 of the Métis Nation of Alberta. We recognize and honour the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked this land for centuries.
We are committed to the ongoing work of reconciliation and decolonization. We strive to embed the principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples into our daily operations. This includes building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, amplifying Indigenous voices, and fostering inclusive spaces that honour Indigenous knowledge, traditions, and ways of being.
