Supporting a young person through mental health, substance use, or other life challenges can feel overwhelming.
At Kickstand, we know that parents, caregivers, and family members are often an important part of a young person’s support system. That’s why we’re committed to providing information, resources, and connections to help families and caregivers support the health and wellness of young people across Alberta.
We are committed to ensuring that Kickstand continues to be developed with input from young people, families, and caregivers across Alberta.
We are currently reviewing and evolving our provincial Family and Caregiver engagement approach. While new opportunities to participate at the provincial level are not currently available, we encourage families and caregivers to connect with their local Kickstand community to learn about opportunities to get involved in their area.
As our engagement approach evolves, future opportunities may include:
- Sharing your experiences and perspectives to help improve programs, services, and supports for young people and families.
- Participating in public speaking, storytelling, media, or awareness initiatives.
- Collaborating with Kickstand staff, young people, families, service providers, community partners, and government representatives on projects and initiatives.
- Providing feedback on resources, programs, and service delivery models.
We value the diverse experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives of families and caregivers across Alberta and recognize the important role they play in supporting young people.
