Kickstand Connect is Hiring Summer Marketing Coordinator

SUMMARY 

Reporting to the Communications Coordinator, the Marketing Coordinator functions as part of a team working to support the content creation for Kickstand’s marketing efforts to establish awareness of Integrated Youth Mental Health Services across Alberta. This position is responsible for supporting and creating engaging content (for social media and other marketing mediums) that caters to young people ages 11 to 25 years old, under the direction and supervision of the Communications Coordinator. The Marketing Coordinator is passionate about creative work and strategies that can facilitate the marketing of Kickstand’s services and programs and has experience developing content relevant to youth mental health. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Support content creation related to developing blogs, website content, social media, and as other related requests arise 
  • Establish and maintain respectful relationships with Kickstand community partners, young people and families/caregivers when developing content 
  • Work with other Kickstand team members as required 
  • Attend meetings as required for or to provide progress updates 

QUALIFICATIONS  

Education, Training and Experience 

  • A young person within the recognized age range of 15 to 30 years of age as outlined by the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirement 
  • Experience, knowledge and training in communications and marketing 
  • Experience in working with a variety of social media platforms and content creation for a young audience 
  • Experience working with non-profits, mental health, and/or young people is an asset 
  • Enrollment in a communications or marketing program is an asset, but not required 

Skills and Abilities   

  • Comfortable communicating formally, informally, in groups and one-on-one 
  • Ability to obtain and share information, ideas, and problems and ask for advice, support, and feedback 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team 
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships 
  • Self-motivated, organized and flexible, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment of frequent change and ambiguous landscape 
  • Excellent computer skills required (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to use Canva, Capcut will be an added advantage 
  • Comfortable shooting videos and being on camera

Additional Information about the Role 

  • The candidate is between the ages of 15 to 30 years of age at the start of the employment 
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment 
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations 
  • This is a hybrid position with some required in-person meetings and flexibility to work from home.
